RYC kids can enjoy two educational and fun summer programs:
Rowayton Yacht Club Salty Dogs Camp:
A week-long program where Children learn to enjoy Long Island Sound and all of its benefits through: canoeing, kayaking, fishing, lobstering, rowing, anchoring, launch driving, critter catching and water safety activities. They learn about the history of our wonderful town and Long Island Sound though interactive and exploratory adventures and lessons.
Norwalk Yacht Club Jr. Sailing:
Norwalk Yacht Club’s Junior Sailing program is for sailors age 8 to 18. Beginners generally start in single-handed Optimists, advance through double-handed Pixels, then move on to single-handed Lasers or double-handed C420s. Sailors 14+ years old are eligible to participate in the Big Boat Program for an additional nominal fee. The Big Boat team generally practices after regular Jr Sailing hours and on weekends. The Program culminates in several local big boat PHRF regattas.
